The Jerome Incident, 1956.

A series of large charcoal works, portraits and typed eyewitness accounts that tell the fictitious story of a UFO sighting in small town Arizona. The Jerome Incident was a response to the pandemic and explored themes of truth, conspiracy and the power of magical thinking. The Jerome Incident was part-funded by Auckland City Council and  featured a metre wide UFO constructed by paper engineer Phillip Fickling. (Photo credit Emma Baker).
